First Assignment: Unit 1, Communication and Employability skills

Today.. we had to write a report on what skills an employer would be looking for, i'm basically finished with my report. It has to be handed in as a draft for steven on monday so it shouldn't be a problem. an example of the assignment was

Technical skills:

Using the Internet – An employer would be looking for this skill as it is vital if working with computers e.g. searching the net.

Basic Software Usage – You would need to know how to use the basic software packages e.g. ms word, PowerPoint.

Interpersonal Technical skills:

Good communication – The employer would expect you to have good communication skills in order to communicate with others (e.g. a team) and transmit information so that it is received and understood.

Listening Skills – It is a good skill to have as you could be dealing with customers face-to-face, on the telephone, selling, communication, problem solving.

Binaries: The worst nightmare

Today we had to do binaries and wtf... i had absolutely no idea, took me quite a while to figure out how to do the caluculations but i've worked it out. There are also other types of computer calculations like Decimal and Hexadecimal, pretty complicated, still need to work on it

The bowling event!

Nah.. was'nt really an event, the college decided to let us go bowlin for no apparent reason but it was pretty cool, the whole of our class went. We all had to get the 151 bus to sutton from the college at 3.15. The game was only £2.50 and we had 3 groups two of 5 and one of 6. In my group it was me, Mitchell, Sarah, Nicola, Lewis and Freddy. I got the top score of something like 180 and my first bowl i got a strike haha that was funny

Conclusion: The worst part of the day was that i only had £10 and all of that was spent on bus travel which was PRETTY COOL

Manchester Induction research

we were asked to do a task on a journey to manchester, it was created on 11th september 2007 and i had no idea WHAT i was doing until i remembered i did it at level2:

Task: You are to attend a meeting with a potential employer at the Exhibition Centre in Manchester at 4PM on Friday 12 October 2007. You will be starting your journey from Carshalton and need to research the possible alternative methods of transport and costs which are available to you.

Introdution to me

My name is Yan, i recently completed the course National Dimploma I.T. Level 2 and now i've enrolled onto level 3 System Support because i want a decent job and hopefully after this course i'll be able to go to university with the right grades

I would describe myself as a nice down to earth person, open minded, and i have a funny personality, but that's what i think of myself.

Things i do in my spare time are playing games, socializing with mates and just chilling out and listenin to music, i like playing games on PC like World of warcraft, Warcraft III (mostly DotA), Counter-Strike.

I am a member of a very prestigious guild on the world of warcraft called Nihilum. We were the world's first to have killed the most recent dungeons e.g. Black Temple, Hyjal Summit, Serpentshrine Cavern, Tempest Keep etc. P.S. This is a lie i just felt like adding this in because i'm just really cool
