First Assignment: Unit 1, Communication and Employability skills

Today.. we had to write a report on what skills an employer would be looking for, i'm basically finished with my report. It has to be handed in as a draft for steven on monday so it shouldn't be a problem. an example of the assignment was

Technical skills:

Using the Internet – An employer would be looking for this skill as it is vital if working with computers e.g. searching the net.

Basic Software Usage – You would need to know how to use the basic software packages e.g. ms word, PowerPoint.

Interpersonal Technical skills:

Good communication – The employer would expect you to have good communication skills in order to communicate with others (e.g. a team) and transmit information so that it is received and understood.

Listening Skills – It is a good skill to have as you could be dealing with customers face-to-face, on the telephone, selling, communication, problem solving.
